  • Trip to Mayflower Pantomime ‘Cinderella’ – Monday 13th December 2021

    Wed 03 Nov 2021

    Dear Parents / Carers,

I am writing to give details of the Whiteparish Pantomime visit. The school had originally reserved tickets for pupils and families for a performance of Cinderella at Salisbury Playhouse, the theatre however postponed this performance in July due to ‘on-going uncertainty around COVID regulations.’ Faced with this cancellation the decision was taken to secure tickets at the Mayflower theatre in Southampton.

We are therefore, pleased to inform you that we have managed to book tickets for the whole school to attend a performance of Cinderella at the Mayflower theatre in Southampton. This trip will only be for pupils due to the number of tickets available. The performance will be 1:30pm on Monday 13th December. The children will be travelling to the venue by coach, and the coach will depart Whiteparish at 12:45pm. Children will therefore be able to eat lunch as normal on the Monday. The children will be due to return to school by 4:30pm and should be collected as usual from the school playground.

Children gaining the experience of seeing a live performance in a theatre is an important part of our wider curriculum offer and will provide a lovely whole school event as part of our wider Christmas celebrations. The cost of the trip will be £17.50 per pupil and payment will be through School Gateway, details of which will be sent out shortly. As we need to confirm numbers on Monday 15th November to secure places, ticket payments will need to be made by Friday 12th November latest.

Permission for the trip will be included in the payment process.

    Kind Regards

    Mr James

  • Parents Evenings Update - Tuesday 2nd and Thursday 4th November

    Mon 01 Nov 2021

    Dear Parents / Carers,

Thank you to everyone who has signed up for a parent teacher consultation meeting slot this week on either Tuesday 2nd November or Thursday 4th November. These meetings will provide the opportunity for you to discuss your child’s progress across the first half term of the academic year, future targets, and general information about how well your child has settled into their new class.

As communicated in October’s newsletter you will have the opportunity to attend these meetings in person or virtually. If you wish to attend the meeting virtually via Microsoft Teams, please email admin@allsaints.wilts.sch.uk stating your child’s name and class and appointment time along with the email address(es) you would like the meeting invitation sent to. Your child’s class teacher will then send out a Microsoft Teams meeting invitation ahead of your allotted time. If you would like to attend virtually, please make sure that you make this request no later than 12noon on the day of your meeting. Teachers will not be able to accommodate requests sent after this time.

For those of you attending in person we have put in place measures to reduce crowding in enclosed spaces to mitigate against the transmission of COVID-19 and winter flu illnesses. Please access your child’s classroom through the external door, and arrive as close to your allotted time as possible. The meeting will take place in a ventilated classroom and will adhere to social distancing. During the meeting you will have the opportunity to look at your child’s books and discuss their learning. Time is limited so if you would like to look at your child’s books in more depth, there will be the opportunity to do this outside the classroom following on from your meeting. We are also requesting that a mask is worn for the meeting. Teachers will also be happy to wear a mask if this is your preference. I must stress that nobody should come into school if they have tested positive for COVID-19 or are presenting the symptoms of the illness. It is important that we all work together to keep Whiteparish a COVID-19 free zone. If you are unable to attend the meeting we will be happy to reschedule.

We very much look forward to sharing your child’s progress with you over this week.

    Kind Regards

    Mr James

  • Start of the New Academic Year

    Tue 31 Aug 2021

    Dear Parents / Carers,

I hope that you have had a restful break and made the most of the sunshine that we have had. All the teaching staff have been in school working hard to make sure that your children can enjoy a smooth start to the new school year.

As we start the new academic year, we will continue to adhere to the DFE operational COVID-19 guidance. This means that we will no longer be operating ‘bubbles’ for groups of pupils. This will allow greater flexibility for curriculum grouping and whole school Acts of Worship to resume.

Staggered starts and finishes to the school day will also no longer be required. With this in mind, the process for the start of the school day will be as follows: The school gate will be open at 8:35am and teachers will be on the school playground ready to welcome your children. At 8:40am a bell will ring signally the start of the school day. At this point, the children should accompany the teachers into their classrooms (via their classroom doors) and parents on the playground should make their way out of school. Any arrivals after 8:40am should head directly to the classroom doors via the playground. The school gate on to the playground will close at 8:50am. Any arrivals after this time should head through the main school office. Please note pupils in Owls class (Year R) do not need to come onto the playground - they can head straight to their classroom.

At the end of the school day at 3pm, teachers will bring classes out on to the playground and dismiss the children to parents and carers from there. Please note that any changes to your child’s collection routine should be communicated through the school office.

Although we will no longer be operating in bubbles, it would be much appreciated if all adults on the playground could be mindful of adhering to social distancing to mitigate risk. Please also note that this way of working may have to change should the school need to manage a community COVID-19 outbreak. Your support and flexibility in dealing with such changes, should they be required, will be much appreciated.

I am very much looking forward to welcoming you back on Thursday 2nd September 2021 and having the opportunity to meet and work with you and your children. Enjoy the remainder of the holidays.

    Kind Regards

    Jon James
