Shining our Light
Our vision and values shine through in all that we do:
Whiteparish's school vision and Christian values of Perseverance, Kindness and Hope, shine through in all that we do and are interwoven across our curriculum. We promote our children's understanding of Christianity beyond our coverage within the RE curriculum and build links with Whiteparish All Saints parish church across the whole school.
Kites’ Class stepped up to the mark on their school trip to Salisbury Cathedral when they dressed up and retold the story of how Salisbury Cathedral was moved from Old Sarum to its current site. Every child delivered their lines brilliantly and paraded towards the cathedral.
Lilly and Will both did an outstanding job of shining their light when speaking to their class about why they would make excellent school councillors. Their speeches were well thought out and articulately delivered. They were both voted in and have represented the class brilliantly. They join the rest of the school councillors who equally all did a fantastic job.
We are very proud of the sporting opportunities afforded to our pupils. As part of the Wyvern St Edmunds' School Games Primary cluster, our children have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of inter-school sporting events. Children have the opportunity to compete across a range of sports which include; football, tri-golf, indoor Kurling and Boccia. Through their practice, positive support and have-a-go attitude, we have a number of teams who will also be Shining their lights in Wiltshire County Finals. ⭐🏆
Year 6 reading buddies support the Year R children once a week through the buddy reading system, they are also often found supporting the younger children when out at break.
Falcons class showed hope for future classes and nature by planting flowers for others to learn about.
Kites Special moment in Salisbury Cathedral
Whilst on a school trip to learn more about Salisbury Cathedral, the children’s sense of awe and wonder when they entered the holy place was lovely to see. In particular, Kye was drawn to so many different artefacts and was overflowing with questions as his curiosity ran wild. An extra special moment occurred when there was a pause in the cathedral activities whilst on a school trip to pray for those in need. Some of our children spontaneously put their hands together and joined in the Lord’s Prayer illustrating their sense of hope for a brighter future.
