Shining our Light
Our vision and values shine through in all that we do:
Whiteparish's school vision and Christian values of Perseverance, Kindness and Hope, shine through in all that we do and are interwoven across our curriculum. We promote our children's understanding of Christianity beyond our coverage within the RE curriculum and build links with Whiteparish All Saints parish church across the whole school.
Kites’ Class stepped up to the mark on their school trip to Salisbury Cathedral when they dressed up and retold the story of how Salisbury Cathedral was moved from Old Sarum to its current site. Every child delivered their lines brilliantly and paraded towards the cathedral.
We are incredibly proud to celebrate Reggie, who is truly living out the Gospel and our school vision by shining his light into the world. Through his determination and commitment, Reggie shows what it means to use his God-given talents to inspire others. A keen young fisherman, Reggie has worked hard to develop his skills in angling, and we are delighted to share that he has recently been featured in Angling Times magazine — a fantastic achievement. His success is the result of patience, perseverance, and a genuine passion for his sport, all of which clearly reflect our school values.
Reggie’s positive attitude and willingness to share his experiences encourage others to follow their own interests, work hard, and believe in themselves. It is great to see our children making the most of every opportunity they are given. By shining his light through his talents, Reggie is a wonderful role model for our whole school community.
We are delighted to recognise Aoife for the inspiring way she lives out our school vision and the Gospel through her experiences of skiing. By embracing new challenges and sharing her journey with others, Aoife shows how talents can be used to bring encouragement, joy, and hope.
Aoife proudly shared her recent skiing experience, demonstrating courage, resilience, and determination as she learns new skills and pushes herself beyond her comfort zone. Her willingness to keep trying, even when things are difficult, reflects our school values of perseverance and hope, and shows a strong belief in herself and her abilities. By talking about her experiences and encouraging others to try new activities, Aoife helps to build confidence and positivity within our school community. Her kindness and enthusiasm inspire others to follow their own interests and to face challenges with bravery. Aoife is a wonderful example of how shining your light can make a real difference to those around you.
Lilly and Will both did an outstanding job of shining their light when speaking to their class about why they would make excellent school councillors. Their speeches were well thought out and articulately delivered. They were both voted in and have represented the class brilliantly. They join the rest of the school councillors who equally all did a fantastic job.
We are very proud of the sporting opportunities afforded to our pupils. As part of the Wyvern St Edmunds' School Games Primary cluster, our children have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of inter-school sporting events. Children have the opportunity to compete across a range of sports which include; football, tri-golf, indoor Kurling, Boccia, KS1 Fundamentals and KS2 Panathalon. Through their practice, positive support and have-a-go attitude, we have a number of teams who will also be Shining their lights in Wiltshire County Finals. ⭐🏆
Year 6 reading buddies support the Year R children once a week through the buddy reading system, they are also often found supporting the younger children when out at break.
Falcons class attended the KS1 fundamentals where they worked along side other schools turn taking, cheering each other on and developing their sporting skills. Jasper helped another learner from a different skill through showing him how to hold the ball and aim for the target at the same time. His kindness was noticed by all Year 9 Sports Leaders at Wyvern St Eds.
Falcons class showed hope for future classes and nature by planting flowers for others to learn about.
Kites Special moment in Salisbury Cathedral
Whilst on a school trip to learn more about Salisbury Cathedral, the children’s sense of awe and wonder when they entered the holy place was lovely to see. In particular, Kye was drawn to so many different artefacts and was overflowing with questions as his curiosity ran wild. An extra special moment occurred when there was a pause in the cathedral activities whilst on a school trip to pray for those in need. Some of our children spontaneously put their hands together and joined in the Lord’s Prayer illustrating their sense of hope for a brighter future.
