26th March - Year 5/6 Tag Rugby Tournament

On Wednesday 26th March, Whiteparish school went to a tag rugby tournament. The team were as follows: Charlie, Rory, Izzy, Henry, Arthur, Samuel, Faye, Logan and Ruby. We went to Bishops Wordsworth School playing fields. As a team we played 7 games, winning 3 and drawing 1. This meant that we finished 11th overall. It was a fun competition to take part in. Thank you to Mr James for taking us. 

26th March Indoor Kurling County Finals - Wiltshire Bronze Medalists 🥉

On Wednesday 26th March we went to the indoor Kurling County finals, as we had qualified for this in an earlier competition. We ended up coming 3rd out of 14 teams (including teams from secondary school), who had also qualified for the tournament throughout Wiltshire. Our root to the bronze medals included a single stone shoot out, which we won! It was a tough but fun competition. Thank you very much to Mrs Davis for taking us to the event.

Year 5 Dodgeball Tournament - Bronze medalists 🥉

On Wednesday 19th March, the Year 5 dodgeball team went to Trafalgar to take part in a Year 5/6 Dodgeball tournament. The Year 5s were split into 2 teams. Both teams played a number of teams in the group stages with the Whiteparish 1 team winning their group and progressing through to the medal group. Were they played against Pitton, Greentrees and Pembroke Park. After two narrow defeats to Greentrees and Pembroke Park, it all came down to the game against Pitton. We eventually ran out comfortable winners, so we came third winning bronze medalists. It was a lot of fun and we all enjoyed it.  

Year 3/4 Tag Rugby Tournament - Winners and Gold Medalists 🥇

On Thursday 13th March 2025 the Whiteparish Year 3/4 tag rugby team went to Wyvern St Edmund's school to compete in a series of Tag rugby games. In group 1 we played St Paul's and Downton, we drew 2-2 against Downton and won 6-4 against St Paul's. This meant we won the group and qualified for the top play-off group. In this group we went on to win every game, hence we won the whole tournament and got the gold medal 🥇. It made us feel proud and joyful.

Monday 24th February - Alternative Swimming Gala

On Monday 24th February 2025, a lot of Year 6 took part in an Alternative Swimming Gala at Five Rivers Leisure Centre at Five Rivers. The team came 4th overall, out of 8 schools in total. Some of the races included doggie paddle, a woggle race, arms only, legs only, a team brick push, a ball push and a team raft push. We finished with a freestyle relay. There was a lot of teamwork by the people doing the relays and and the swimmers showed kindness throughout encouraging and cheering each other on. Thank you to Mr Jenkins for taking us and the parents that transported us to and from the venue.

Wednesday 12th February - Boccia County Finals and .... Wiltshire Champions

On Wednesday 12th Feb 2025, the Whiteparish Boccia team (William, Albie and Tyler), took part in the Wiltshire and Swindon Boccia County finals. The team was unbeaten, despite having some close games, winning 2 with a one boccia shoot out. The unbeaten record meant that the team managed to lift the trophy and become county champions. 🏆

Panathlon Key Stage 2 Team

On the 11th February, we went to the Panathlon Challenge. We did 11 different activities and games and out of 16 schools, we came 4th. It was really fun and we would love to go again next year.

Wednesday 22nd January - KS2 Indoor Kurling Competition - Bronze Medalists 🥉

On Wednesday 22nd January, a school team went to Wyvern Academy for a Key Stage 2 Indoor Kurling competition from 9:30-11:30am. Our squad was made up of 3 teams of two players: Jacob and Macey, Rory and William and Tyler and Albie. All three teams played a number of group games, with two Whiteparish teams winning their groups and making it through to the top group, to contest medals. In the end Jacob and Macey got a bronze medal for being third out of 36 teams. A huge achievement which means they have now qualified for the county finals. Well done to all of the teams.

Boccia Tournament and Gold Medalists 🥇

On 4th December 2024, the Boccia team went to Sarum Academy. There were 5 top teams and one of our three teams was one of them! That team then won the Top 5 final, which meant that they progressed to the County Finals! We had a great time and thank you to Mr James for training us at club and then taking us to the event.

Gymnastics Team

On Thursday 21st November, some Year 4s went to Wyvern St Eds. Team Whiteparish learnt a lot about balance and strength. The Year 10 gym squad helped us be brave when we walked the high stand beam. Thank you to Mrs Uphill for taking us - we had a great time!

It was Thursday 7th November, when four children in KS2 went to Wyvern St Eds and got trained up to be Play Leaders. We played games and had a booklet to fill in. We look forward to being able to run activities for the younger children at lunchtimes.

Tri-Golf Tournament - Silver Medalists 🥈

On Wednesday 9th October, we went to a golf competition at Salisbury Golf Centre. We came 2nd in the small schools categories. Morgan was recognised by an other school for showing honesty - well done! Thank you to Mr James for taking us and the parents that transported us there.

Year 5/6 Football

On Wednesday 2nd October 2024, Year 5/6 went to a football tournament. There were 23 other schools and we came 11th. We lost 3-0 to Alderbury, beat Pembroke Park 3-0 and then drew 1-1 against St Nicholas' before our final group game. which finished 0-0 against Broadchalke. After that, we found out that we finished 3rd in our group and we would play one more match against St Andrew's for 11th place. It was a draw but we won 4-3 on penalties. Thank you to Mr James for taking us.
