Swindon Steam Museum

Falcons' class visited Swindon Steam Museum to further their learning of their enquiry, "What did Brunel do for Great Britain?" They enjoyed walking through the museum and interacting with all the historical hands-on equipment available. They were able to look at what significant people in history created and how these impact our lives today. They were able to take their knowledge of Brunel learnt in the classroom and draw on that when looking at replicas and images of his work. Through a interactive workshop the class was able to act our the life of Brunel and all of his achievement to further embed this knowledge. They enjoyed wearing clothes from the past and becoming the characters in the timeline. Throughout the day the class worked in groups and pairs to solve challenges around the museum, such as building bridges, solving puzzles and rebuilding trains from the start.
