The Eco council presented an assembly to teach the school about the plastic problem in the world today. The children learnt about the amount of plastic that ends up in the ocean and how it effects marine wildlife as well as ourselves. All children tried to avoid having single-use plastic in their lunch boxes.
During the day some classes did some extra work linked to this topic. Hawks learnt all about how much of the globe is water as well as other facts and figures explaining the problem. Falcons thought about times they had enjoyed the beach/sea-side and wrote descriptions or poems about it.
In the afternoon children used natural resources that they found to create pictures of marine wildlife effected by the problem.
Keira and Jessica sold cookies, which sold out quickly, after school to raise money for the Marine Conservation Society! Well done girls!
